In January 2012, Hilton Pharmacy and Hilton Opticians started operations on Welland Road, Wellbrook Medical Centre. Both businesses are independently owned.

Eye examinations

Eye tests can tell us about your vision, as well as detecting any eye health conditions and general health issues. Your eyes should be tested regularly so you have the right prescription for you, as well as peace of mind over your health.

      Who will do my eye test?

          Our Eye Examinations are carried out by one of our Qualified Ophthalmic Opticians.

      Why should I have an eye examination?

          The Eye Examination is a complete eye health and vision check and can detect early signs of health conditions before any symptoms appear, this is why it is recommended to have regular eye examinations.

      How long will it take?

          We advise that you allow 30 minutes for the appointment.

      How much is it?

          The cost of our private Eye Examination is £30 but you may be entitled to a NHS eye examination if certain criteria are met. 

      What do you test for?

          The Eye Examination is a complete vision check to see if you require spectacles. It is also a health check and can detect many conditions including Glaucoma, Diabetes and high blood pressure.

      How often should I have an eye test?

          We recommend that adults have an eye examination every 2 years whether or not you are experiencing any issues and children every year. 


          You may need a more frequent eye examination depending if health or vision problems are detected.

Glasses: Single Vision, Bifocal, Varifocal & Occupational

We offer a wide range of men's, women's and children's eyewear brands to suit all. Our trained dispensing staff are here to help you find a pair of glasses that suits your features and requirements.
      What types of lenses do you offer?

          At Hilton Opticians, we offer a wide variety of frames and lenses. 


          We are always on hand and enjoy helping you choose your new spectacles so that you leave feeling stylish and comfortable and with glasses that suit your lifestyle and vision requirements.

      What’s included in the price?

          All of our frames include the cost of standard single vision lenses, additional costs can be added to meet the patients individual prescription needs. 

      How will I know what lenses I need?

          Our Opticians and trained dispensing staff will advise you on the best frame and lens options from the results of your Eye examination.

Sunglasses, Sports & Safety Glasses

We offer a wide range of glasses to suit a variety of needs. Whether you need protection from the sun, glasses that are suitable for your favourite sport, or eyewear that will keep you safe at work, we've got you covered.
      What alternative glasses do you offer?

          Spectacles for hobbies and sports can be made specifically for the individuals needs, have a chat with our qualified optometrists and dispensing staff for the full range of options available, from sports goggles to prescription swimming goggles, anything is possible.  


          Work safety spectacles can be ordered through ourselves either privately or through a company, please ask for more details.

      Sunglasses

          We offer ranges of sunglasses to help protect your eyes from the sunshine and outdoor elements. Any of our frames can be made into a sunglass with a prescription. We also have a range of sunglasses that you can buy as they come or you can have your prescription in these also.

      Safety Glasses

          If your hobby or job requires you to wear safety glasses, we offer a service that we can have safety glasses made up to your required prescription to help you continue with your work in comfort and also protect your eyes correctly. Please ask us for more details regarding this.

      Sports Glasses

          Spectacles for hobbies and sports can be made specifically for your individual needs. We can offer a of variety solutions from sports goggles for football and rugby to swimming goggles. If you have a specific hobby or sports that your everyday glasses wouldn’t suit then ask us for more information and we can look at how we can best assist you.

Contact Lenses

For some of us, contact lenses are our staple need in everyday life; due to convenience, aesthetics or just pure fun! We offer a contact lens supply and fit service that comes with after care. With the help of our opticians, gone are the days of worrying about ill-fitting and uncomfortable lenses!


      What type of Contact lenses do I need?

          There is such a wide choice of contact lenses available and this can be overwhelming when trying to decide which option is best for you. 


          Initially you would require an Eye Examination and Contact Lens Consultation where we would check the health of the eyes and whether you would be suitable for contact lens wear. 


          The optometrist would discuss when and how long you would be wearing the lenses for and decide on which contact lenses would best suited.

      How do I use my Contact lenses?

          If you are a first time wearer, we would teach you how to insert and remove your lenses and advise general care to keep your eyes healthy. 

      How do I pay for my Contact lenses?

          Monthly and daily disposable lenses can be paid for monthly by direct debit which includes a yearly aftercare appointment and replacement contact lenses if needed. 


          You can pay as and when you require your contact lenses as long as you keep having regular checks which would be chargable.

Fitting, Accessories & Repairs

We're here to assist you with a number of eyewear concerns, whether it's repairing a broken pair of glasses, or if your glasses are ill-fitting and need adjustment. We offer a spectacles MOT where we can tighten and clean them for you free of charge in between eye examinations.

      What accessories do you have in store?

          Accessories can be purchased in-store with a range of products including microfibre cleaning cloths, anti-fog spectacle lens spray, cords, chains and spectacle cases. 


          We also stock multi-purpose contact lenses solution and have a wide variety of eye drops and products for various eye conditions.

      What is the warranty on my frames?

          All our frames come with a 12 month warranty but from time to time, these can wear loose with wearing them on a daily basis and we will be happy to re-fit them for you. 


          We offer a spectacles MOT where we can tighten and clean them for you free of charge in between eye examinations. Just pop-in!

      Will it cost to have an MOT on my spectacles?

          Spectacles purchased from us, we offer this service free of charge. We also offer this service to spectacles not purchased from us, however there will be a small charge to pay.
